The Rhino Shield Process

Rhino Shield Houston does it right, the first time so you never paint again. The Rhino Shield application process is thorough and proven to last.

Here are the steps:

Thorough Inspection:

Before we start, we inspect your home to determine the condition of the underlying substrates. We determine what work will be needed and make a specific plan.

Cleaning and Washing:

We power-wash the entire surface to have a clean, dry surface to bond to.

Patch and Repair:
Next, all the cracks, holes, chips, and breaks on the home are filled and sealed. All damaged stucco areas are repaired to bring the surface back to it original condition.

Caulking:
Once the wood surfaces have been scraped and sanded, we fill cracks and small holes in the wood and caulk around all windows and door casings to prevent moisture from penetrating.

Masking:
All areas which are not to be coated are masked off, covered, or temporarily removed. Special attention is given to plants, lawns, decks, windows, and other areas prone to overspray.

Priming:
We spray on a solid coat of Rhino-Shield Adhesive Primer Sealer to act as a bonding agent to make the finish coat stay on your home without cracking or peeling.

Apply the Finish Coats:

At last, after all the prep work and priming is completed, the ceramic top-coat is applied. The top-coat is sprayed at a rate of 100 square feet per gallon or greater to achieve the optimal mil-thickness. In tight areas brushing or rolling may be required. Back-rolling may be required on new stucco or other porous surfaces.

Detail touch up:
After the final finish coat is applied, we thoroughly detail everything on the exterior and then remove all masking materials.

Clean up job site:
